Plymouth Rock

Purpose: For meat and Egg laying

Cold Hardiness: Hardy

Heat Hardiness: Somewhat Hardy

Egg Laying: About 4 Per Week

Egg Color: Brown

Egg Size: Large

Easter Eggers

Purpose: Egg Laying

Cold Hardiness: Hardy

Heat Hardiness: Fairly decent 

Egg Laying: About 4 Per Week

Egg Color: Green/Olive/Blue/Pink/Brown

Egg Size: Large

We at Peebler Pullets currently have multiple colors of the Easter Egger. They were hatched on February 28th and will be ready for sale starting on May 1st. Contact for availability.

(Note: Do not mistake these for Ameraucanas or Araucanas. Many sellers will mistakenly name them that, but there are distinct differences. Ameraucanas will have puffy cheeks and beards and will only lay blue eggs. Araucanas do not have any tail feathers and will also only lay blue eggs. Easter Eggers are not a true breed unlike the other two, but are actually a cross-breed and do not have any specific varieties. They will also have varying colors and characteristics, but most will have puffy cheeks similar to the Ameraucana.)

 


 

Orpington

Heat Hardiness: Somewhat Hardy

Egg Laying: About 3 Per Week

Egg Color: Brown

Black Sex-link

 

Purpose: For Meat and Egg Laying

Cold Hardiness: Hardy in Winter

Heat Hardiness: Somewhat Hardy

Egg Laying: About 4 Per Week

Egg Color: Brown

            We at Peebler Pullets currently have the Black Sex-link. They were hatched on February 28th and will be ready for sale starting on May 1st. Contact for availability.

 

 (Note: The Black Sex-link is not a true breed, but a cross-breed. That means they do not breed true. A Sex-link is a kind of cross breed where the genes are “sex linked” and the rooster looks completely different from the hen. The Black Sex-link is a cross between a Rhode Island Red rooster and a Barred Plymouth Rock hen.)


Brahma

 

Purpose: For Meat and Egg Laying

Heat Hardiness: Somewhat Hardy

Egg Laying: About 3 Per Week

Egg Color: Brown

Delaware

 

Purpose: For Meat and Egg Laying

Cold Hardiness: Hardy in Winter

Heat Hardiness: Somewhat Hardy

Egg Laying: About 4 Per Week

Egg Color: Brown

Egg Size: Large

 

            Delawares are a quiet, calm chicken breed. They are also very curious and Intelligent. They almost became extinct and although they are still endangered, they are slowly making a come back. We at Peebler Pullets have the white variety of the Delaware. They were hatched February 28th and will be ready for sale on May 1st.


Austra White

 

Purpose: For Meat and Egg Laying

Cold Hardiness: Hardy in Winter

Heat Hardiness: Hardy in Summer

Egg Laying: About 5 Per Week

Egg Color: White

Egg Size: Large

(Note: The Austra White is not a true breed, but a cross-breed. That means they do not breed true. The Austra White is a cross between a Black Australorp rooster and a White Leghorn hen.)
